Although I got a grade of 5 in ENG 2 lecture, I was still able to pass the course.
ENG 2 (College Writing in English) is supposed to be a “pass both” GE course. That means, for you to pass ENG 2, you have to at least have a grade of 60% in both lecture and recitation classes.
After failing two lecture exams and missing a twenty-point quiz, I only got 28/50 (56%) in the lecture. I asked my lecturer what will be my fate then. She told me that since my grade was 2 points less than 30, she’ll give me a grade of 3 if I pass the recitation class. Fortunately, my recitation instructor was lenient enough to give my final paper a score high enough to pull my final grade up to 2.75.
